Summary: No, the room wasn't spotless. There was dust and a used tissue lying under the bed and the room needed a good clean overall. However, the bed linen was clean and the bed very comfortable. The house was cosy warm. Our room however, had several damp patches, mainly on the ceiling and a trickle of water running down the wall which need addressed. The property was advertised as having a hot tub (this was why I booked). When I asked about it, the host said "it wasn't available for use", therefore this is misleading! The website showed a full mini bar including various chocolate, however it was empty. When I asked about this, I was told the delivery had not arrived. It did not arrive during our stay. The host's attitude left a bit to be desired, mainly when he made reference to the amount of food which had been consumed by the guests on our first morning at breakfast! The food consumed was not overboard. I think he misinterpreted our staying to chat after breakfast was finished and thought we were late leaving due to the amount of food we had! The morning we checked out there was a female member of staff present at breakfast whom I assumed to be the host's mother, who was much more pleasant. These issues would not prevent us from returning and the fact that we got an early check-in was most welcome.
